A Star in the Making
Just when you think the tennis world is set, along comes Victoria Mboko, an 18-year-old Canadian trying to redefine what it means to arrive. Born in the U.S. in 2006 to Congolese parents and raised in Toronto, she’s quickly become one of the most incredible stories in the sport today.
Why Her Story Inspires
Victoria’s journey is fueled by resilience, belief and talent. She battled injury setbacks including a serious knee injury in 2022 but used that time to build mental toughness and learn how to care for her body.
Her success reminds us that when girls are given opportunities, support and confidence especially at a young age they can rise. But so many girls around the world are still sidelined every month due to period poverty...missing school, sports and chances just because they lack access to menstrual care.
What if Victoria had missed few days of practices every month or miss matches because of that? What if her focus had been taken away? Not fair.
Victoria Mboko shows us just how bright the future can be when girls get the chance to shine. Let’s keep pushing for equity everywhere...on the court, in classrooms and in the world by ending barriers like period poverty and lifting every girl up.
When every girl has dignity, access and support, she can become unstoppable just like Victoria.
